1. Be aware of grade level and teacher standards.
2. Communicate with your child's teacher if your child is experiencing difficulty with homework, or you notice a change in attitude about school.
3. Be aware of the unit of study your child is involved in and ask your child questions about it.
4. Provide a place in your home for your child to work with good lighting and the materials needed.
5. Check your child's work. Did he/she follow the directions? Is it neat? Is it accurate?
6. Encourage and praise your child to stay on task and complete work.
7. Encourage your child to complete homework independently.
8. Participate in school functions and parent conferences.
