Homework is designed to reinforce what has been taught each day and also teaches your child responsibility. Therefore, it is important for students to remember to complete daily assignments. Approximately 20-30 minutes of homework will be given to complete Monday through Thursday. Each Monday a recording sheet and spelling list will be sent home. On this sheet please check off each nightly assignment as it is completed. These nightly assignments will consist of reading, spelling, and math flash cards. In addition to this, other sheets of homework will occasionally be sent home to reinforce specific concepts. Optional homework will consist of a homework menu that lists activities linked to our state and district standards. Please make sure you are reviewing and correcting this homework with your child. The homework packet is due each Friday and must be signed off with a parent signature to show that it was reviewed. The Reading Olympics program sponsored by our PTA consists of recording minutes and pages read each day. This nightly reading is counted as our reading homework on our homework recording sheet. These recording sheets are turned in monthly.
