Welcome to our 3rd/2nd Grade Community!
I am extremely excited to work with both grade levels this year! Tying together the curriculum and differentiating lessons for the differences will be a hallmark for instruction this year. We have also explored the attributes of a scholar and are developing understanding of symbols used for depth and complexity within the curriculum. In math, we will be using the forum of problem solving all year to facilitate understanding of math concepts and provide a forum for discussing mathematical ideas. At home, encourage your child to explain his/her thinking across the content areas and look for multiple perspectives in understanding a concept.

I grew up in Fullerton, CA and went to college in San Diego. I have a BA in Psychology and a multiple subject CLAD credential; in addition, I have an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from CSUF. Before becoming a classroom teacher, I taught PE and Junior Lifeguards. I enjoy spending time with family and friends. Some of my hobbies include snowboarding, running, swimming, hiking, and shopping. I love working with children and watching them grow! |

I believe student needs are the focus of the classroom. I believe in teaching students using a variety of modalities and settings. I believe in meeting each student's needs. I believe in collaboration with parents and fellow teachers. I believe in a balanced literacy program including shared reading, guided reading, independent reading, writing, and word study. I believe in teaching children to become independent, responsible students that love to learn! |
